Graduate Public Health
I am a second-year MPH student with a passion aimed towards disparities within social epidemiology in a global health setting. Specifically with interests drawing me towards social and policy determinants of health. The intersection of multiple level disciplines will help to work together to form an open mind of other healthcare perspectives. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of IHSO, and I believe through the work of interprofessional partnerships a greater understanding will be created for a global benefit to healthcare.

Kaitlin Schwarz
My name is Kaitlin and I am a second year MPH student studying Epidemiology who is passionate about the pursuit of a healthier world for all. My interests primarily exist in the areas of social epidemiology and infectious diseases, but I am also broadly interested in health equity. Following my time here at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, I am hoping to enter a career that enables me to employ the quantitative skills I have acquired as an epidemiology student to help progress an understanding of health disparities that, in turn, informs policies and action that aid in mitigating these disparities. I am eager to be a part of IHSO as I believe in the potential that exists to improve health for individuals and populations when collaboration occurs across health professions. As a public health representative to IHSO, I hope to help foster interdisciplinary health perspectives among students that ultimately facilitate professional growth such that we enter our respective careers with the knowledge and skills necessary to bridge gaps and improve health for all.
